Iran Electronics Research Center (IERC) as a scientific, educational and research institute, with active research teams in fields of electronics, communications, microprocessors, microelectronics, optics and radars was founded according to decision made by supreme council of Electronics Industries (IEI) date June 1997 and approval of ministry of Science, Research and Technologies development council dated July 1998 .

Main Goals:

•  Define, Evaluate and Supply the affiliated companies research requirements.

•  Policy making and implementing supporting research proposals in the field of Electronics, Communications, Electro-Optic, Laser Semi Conductors and software.

IERC Structure:

IERC consist of 6 centers; each of which is situated in one of subsidiaries of IEI. These centers include:

1.Shiraz Electronics Industries Research Center.

2.Communication Research Center.

3. Semi-Conductors Research Center.

4.Iran Optics Industries Research Center.

5.Supreme Electronics Research Center.

6.I.T Research Group.
